Bug,  illos,  my art is going to the dogs

poster day

Baby Bug vs. the Volcano

No painting today. My paintings called to me all day long from the patio. I’m working on two right now and so far I haven’t screwed them up. They are super fun and constantly call out to me. “Paint me! Paint me!” they shout in happy little voices. Kind of like the Dove Dark chocolates in my pantry, except those say “Eat Me! Eat me!”

However, no matter how loud those paintings call me, Baby Bug calls louder. She also likes to climb up on things all day long, scaring me that she’s going to fall. I think she has turned into a monkey. If I don’t take her to the park to climb on things, she makes her own jungle gym out of our dining room chairs.

I didn’t paint but I did get one thing done during her new and improved super-long-once-a-day nap. A poster!

Art for Dogs poster

I am soooooooo not done hyping this. By the time August 25th gets here you are going to be so sick of dog art you will hope you never see a blue cartoon dog again. I think I’m going to make some little side banners too. So if anybody wants to hype the show for me, email me and I’ll give you the code so you can have some blue dog hyperness in your blog too.

I’m doing blogathon so I should have a lot of new traffic this weekend. Send me a button and I’m proud to display it. I love your work.

You are making me envious! I am dying to paint, my fingers are itching, my brain is spinning, but neither of my kids will nap, they fuel each other! Then we drive over to my parents at 6:30-7pm’ish cause I am so beat and need a break and they fall asleep in the truck. So then I am stuck somewhere with no paint or canvas. By the time we get home they are wound up from their evening crash and are up till 11. Then I need a facebook and blog break and now it’s 1:27 Hmmm, maybe I should be painting now….or zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….

I love those red tube slides! We don’t have many left here, I think the winters killed them.

How exciting that you love your painting. Your poster looks fantastic, won’t be sick of blue dogs here, that’s for sure.

I love the pic of Baby Bug with her hands in the air…it’s like “ta-da!”.

I don’t live in CA, but I would still love a banner or button to put on my blog :)

I second the zero blue dog sickness over here. I’ve spent the past few days (at work…) reading through some of your blog history up until the birth of BB. It felt like at least half of what you wrote could have been me speaking! Craziness! Well…aside from I’m not pregnant yet and have 2 more years before I get to try…but still!

Anyway, thanks for entertaining me during slow spots at work, and congradulations on your dog art – it’s adorable! The little fluffy dog with the wallpaper is still my personal fave! If I lived on the left of the US instead of the right, I’d so be there! And that little bug of yours – she couldn’t be any more adorable!

That’s how I am with my sewing when I start a project and I’m in the middle of one right now!

Very true about the jungle-gym. I can’t tell you how many times I hear “I’m Stuck! Help Me!” coming from another room.

    Keep the art coming!

Such a cute picture of Baby Bug on the slide! Love the poster…everything doggie is turning out great!

I absolutely love your art. And if I lived anywhere near California, (I’m Canadian) I would totally come to the art show.

I love your blog too. I thought it was about time I commented :)

SAJ says: Yes it was! Because I LOVE comments! But I can’t complain because I need to get out and comment on other people’s blogs too and I never do. So you’re doing better than me!

I will totally put a banner in my blog, more because I like your art though, since I am in Canada I dont think many of my locals will be representing ya know?

  • Susan too

We are moving from the bay area to SD next month, and my MIL lives in Redondo, so I will be coming to your show! It looks great!

Those chair photographs are to die for. In a few of them she looks so professional. In one she is conducting an orchestra and in another, she is a ballerina. That series would look really cool framed on a wall.

If I am not mistaken your Art Show is going to be like “Blogher” but on a more local scale. I must admit that I am a little jealous, I would love to meet all your readers they all sound so great!

  • MomnPop

Oh man…wishing I was going to be in LA that weekend so I could go!

LOVE that picture of BB at the slide. The hair do is hilarious and she wears it so well! She’s like a vertical Pippi Longstocking.
