I got my hair cut! Oui! Oui!
Hi. I got my hair cut again. I know. That’s breaking news on this blog. I usually wait two years between hair cuts and let it get really shaggy and long. But I couldn’t wait this time. All the “texturizing” grew out and it was driving me insane. It was like my hair had a life of it’s own and was growing long octopus tentacles made out of horse hair. I just don’t have time to tame monsters like that so off I went to the chop chop shop. I feel so much better now.
It felt a little like the drawing above… which really has nothing to do with my hair but something I was working on for a client. What a funny coincidence. Maybe I was “method drawing”.
It’s very short and bobby. I sort of feel like Amelie! (Who I adore with all my little Parisian heart.) I think my other haircut was a bit cuter but this one is shorter and maybe it won’t take as long to grow out. Maybe I should just shave my head. You don’t even know how many times I daydream about doing that.
The hair dresser told me I should be thankful that I have so much hair. He said someday I’ll be looking back on these unmanageable days with longing. Hard to believe but I suppose he’s right. He also said Toby should come to his shop and learn how to blow dry my hair for me. Ha! HAH! THAT would be pretty funny.
I hate to have my hair cut. I will wait until I start getting headaches before I will go. I have the thickest hair in the world.
Do you mean you got your hair cut, didn’t like it, so cut it again?? I think it looks fantastic, I wish I had the courage to go short every once in a while, but memories of years ago haunt me so I keep it long. I too am due for a cut, hopefully my hairdresser will get it right this time, my last two cuts were not what I like.
And wouldn’t it be grand if our Hubby’s would dry our hair for us :).
Love the February Banner by the way!
The new cut looks great!
Lukie, I beg to differ, I have the thickest hair in world! haha
it looks great!
I just got my haircut too! It is so delightful and cathartic, isn’t it? And everyone should go short! It is so chic and flattering! I am still on my haircut high from when I got mine several days ago… :)
You look AWESOME.
You are coming to BlogHer, right? So I can see it on person?
I love it!
I still haven’t had my hair cut since I cut mine off in September. Maybe, I should do something about this situation soon.
(And there must be something in the air — I just changed stylists, for the better!)
She Likes Purple
I love it! Lovely!
I love it! Very cute and sassy! I am going to a new stylist this Friday. My hair has become boring and ugly. I can’t stand it and end up wearing it in a pony tail E V E R Y D A Y. So, your post has inspired me … I might end up chopping mine all off too! Well, maybe not … I always chicken out.
oo la la…c’est belle!
Amelie…I need to see that again!
The Chatty Housewife
Your drawing reminds me of mythology- Medusa? :)
Since everyone loves it, I wanted to say the opposite and say that I hate it, but that would be lying. It is sort of cute. But then again, having that Medusa hair would be cool, too.
Fantastic! I love it! Not that it matters, at all, being that it is of course, YOUR hair, but, still. Love it.
I like it, I think it’s cute! And I think about shaving my head too. Usually when it’s long, unmanageable, and I’m sick of it.
Woah… soooo cute. See, you even inspire me to get my hair cut … My hair is about the same length as yours in your last flickr pics. In fact, after reading your blog everyday for the last couple of weeks, i’m starting to believe you are the CA version of me. I think instead of blogging myself anymore, I might just link to you and say “ditto”.
I love Amelie toooooo, that was such a great flick. I wish I could get my hair cut like her and be that adorable. Ok, well, now I have to find a good time to get to the chop chop shop myself and do the deed.
have a good day.
Now THAT’S a visual…Toby blow drying your hair…hehehehehe! Hey, he should!
Love the new doo! Looks cute.
I like it! I dream of cutting my hair short like you dream of shaving your head bald.
sigh I had short hair once…, she reminisces wistfully…

C’est jolie :o)
It looks good.
He he! I could not imagine my husband blowdrying my hair!!
You look great!!
Your hair is lovely and I love the cut! You always remind me of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s for some reason. Your classic and comfortable.
what a great valentine’s idea – have your significant other blow-dry your hair. mm.
ooohhhhh lala! me likee! c’est tres chic!
“You don’t even know how many times I daydream about doing that.”
Since high school, I’ve daydreamed about going Red. I finally did last night.
Love the cut. It is absolutely darling!
It looks great!!
Cute cut. I am all about easy.
Bouncy and sassy. The new cut suits you, but will you have to do it again come summer? With nostalgic horror I remember my early years wearing a Dutch Bob. You know, the kind that’s shingled up the back with flat side strands. It looked great on everyone else. With not very much, very fine, very straight hair my ears poked right through. I wiah I could forget it.
Today is TaTa’s birthday.
Um, ya, so every one else said what I was thinking already. Even the french stuff.
Loverly, you rock to short do!
SO cute. I’m totally overdue myself–haven’t had a haircut since August of 06! Yikes!
You look sassy! And French-sweet… all at the same time!
I envy your natural wave…. sigh. If only pregnancy/post-partum hadn’t made half of my hair fall out.
Your hair looks great!!
Si Si – Oui Oui!!
The new cut looks great! I mentioned that I wanted to cut my hair a lot shorter, but my husband quickly said NO…
By the way, how is Forrest doing? I think about him and hope that he is getting a lot of love.
(If you get a chance, check out my very first blog. I will try to think of interesting things to say.)
SAJ says: I’m glad you asked. I neeeeeed to blog about Forrest. He has the BEST home ever. They spoil him rotten. He has a cat run AND he gets lavendar baby wipes just for him which he looooves. Long story, I’ll relate later.
DUDE. I will shave mine if you will shave yours. Together we will be bald. But first I will crochet us cute little beanies. I also think I would look very fetching in a head wrap/turban-ish thing.
Re Toby and blow drying — one never knows. Last time I became highly impatient, had my husband cut it, then went in to the stylist, who said it was an excellent job, just needed a little more layering in the back. And was shocked when I told her my husband did it. Coming soon! his future career in cosmetology.
well i have never had my hair that short but looks good on you i have always wanted short hair but mine is so long that i carnt let it go in the summer i always have my hair cut this time i will go choppy probley this time short and choppy thanks you has inspard me!
Thanks for catching a cranky-wave, method-drawer. We’re thrilled with the effort!
Yeah, I can just picture Monsieur Toby…
