Get Your Kicks in the Sticks

I feel sooooo much better. I’m out in the sticks. I’m borrowing my Dad’s camera and I’m taking pictures! I’d be on top of the world except I dumped my full latte in the garden while trying to rescue Baby Bug from some tall itchy weeds. I set it on my mom’s split rail fence and then proceeded to bump it with my big clumsy leg as I tried to hoist myself and Baby Bug over the fence. Of course it dumped upside down AND the lid fell off. I was almost tempted to get down with the dogs and lap it up. We are going to have some very hyper dogs later. Blasted clumsiness.

My sister-in-law quit her job today at the big-box-hardware store. I’m so happy for her. It was and is a scary thing to do. No more health insurance. But you gotta draw the line somewhere. She was a garden cashier and they were running her ragged with horrible hours. It just seemed like they didn’t care. She’s so smart, I’m sure she’ll find a new job in no time but today we are not going to think about that. We are just going to soak up the sun and hang out with the kids in the garden.

There’s lots to do out here and the weather is divine.

Oh, I just twittered you questions that you answered in this post. :-) Except the last question, you can still answer that one if you want. But I guess if the answer was “yes” you wouldn’t be blogging after all these years! Maybe that’s why I still have not started a blog.

Sounds great! There’s nothing like escaping to parents or in-laws. That’s about the only time I get a break from my kids. Good for CC. I hope she finds a better job. Sorry about the latte! What a bummer!

I picked and snapped beans all yesterday morning and then canned in the afternoon when the sun’s heat took us indoors. Divine … love it.

I’m glad you’re there SAJ. So glad.

Your garden pics are divine! Hope it’s not too long until you get your own camera again. I love the words in your post more than the pics. The pics, to me, are a bonus.

Enjoy the sticks! Have a great Mother’s Day too!

I think I’m going to join you in the sticks. I was a total skank today as I’m sure all my kids will tell their therapist years from now. I must have said “Get out of the kitchen!!” fifteen times during dinner prep with increasing shrill. Ugh. Have a wonderful mother’s day tomorrow, you are doing a wonderful job with Baby Bug. I love reading about all the cool things you do with her.

    Happy Mother’s Day!
I would just like to say how much I enjoy your blog. Your photos always make me smile. I have a “Baby Bun” at home, and I love reading about Baby Bug’s exploits!
My daughter is about 2 months younger than Baby Bug.

Hope you are feeling better and had a wonderful day today!

First Happy Belated Mother’s Day! Second, if you have a big leg then mine is GARGANTUAN! Third, YAY for Dad cam! I was having Baby Bug fresh-pic withdrawals. And, I’m done with my exclamation point madness for this comment.

Yay, glad you were able to get away to the Sticks. Happy Belated Mother’s Day, hope you had a great day. And kudos to your SIL for quitting her job, it really didn’t sound like a good place to work. Hope you were able to bring your Dad’s camera back with you until you are again with a camera.
