Bug,  house-sitting,  sewing catastrophes

House-sitter reporting

dancing

I’m three days into house-sitting and today I finally broke down and sewed one seam on my quilt. I know I need to get cracking because my mom leaves on Thursday and I really need to get things moving while I have help. I’m afraid if I don’t I may never ever ever finish this.

Hi Lilly!

My mom on the other hand has sewed four pairs of pajama pants for Bug. For some reason we are always short on pajamas—maybe because I let Bug eat Nutella on her waffles every morning while she watches cartoons. She’s a messy eater and I hate doing laundry so we are always running out of clean pajamas. But not anymore! They are so cute too. I’ll try to take photos of the other sets.

testing out the quilt that will be

So anyway, house-sitting is going okay. The cats are fine and happy and I’ve not done much other than catch up on my blog reading. Tomorrow I’ll sew up the whole thing! Or not.

It’s great that you’re taking on a quilt! I wanted to make just a few handmade gifts, and so far I’ve failed pretty miserably. It’s the thought that counts though, right?? Good luck!

I’ve taken on the CRAZY task of making my 18-m.o. daughter a set of pajamas to match my Christmas ones this year. I’ve only ever made one thing from a pattern, and had tons of help.
Good luck finishing (or making some progress!) on the quilt…hopefully the sewing fairies will be with both of us this week! :o)

Good luck on the quilt! The colors look great and I’m sure it will turn out fantastic. I still have to finish mine … I cut it before we moved a few months back and then decided that I didn’t like some of the fabric. Ah well .. have fun house-sitting!

You can do it! You’ve done most of the torturous and tedious part of the quilt top. Sewing the blocks together should go quickly compared to the cutting and sewing of all those little strips.
