Bug,  Tis the Season

Baby Bug’s First Christmas

Today was the day: Baby Bug’s first Christmas. I’ve been looking forward to this day all year. I’m not sure what I expected it to be but it turned out to be pretty low key. I can’t complain, both Baby Bug and I came down with a cold. The last thing either of us felt like doing today was making it a big deal.

We were supposed to have a fancy dinner with Toby’s mom and brother but they ended up in the hospital. Nothing serious. Toby’s mom was is in for the regular reasons and his brother just broke or sprained his foot and had to go to the emergency room. I’m sad for them but I’m glad I didn’t have to cook ham dinner. Usually I like making dinner but today, I didn’t feel like doing squat.

It was really fun watching Baby Bug open her presents though. She just barely understands the concept of ripping paper to see what’s inside. Sometimes she gets distracted by the paper and forgets to look for the toy inside. But she seemed pretty excited about her gifts. She’s so much fun these days. I can’t wait until her birthday, I know it’s only going to get better.

    Happy Holidays.

My grandson is 16 months old and while not QUITE getting the bit about tearing open the paper, WAS old enough to get frustrated when toys had to be “unwired” before he could get to them.

I couldn’t tell from your pics whether you might have had that prob with Baby Bug xmas presents, so just wanted to mention that you might want to hint that birthday gifts be unwired from the original packaging so that they will be easy for her to get to next month.

It looks like Baby bug was very nice. She got lots of goodies. I love the red shoes.

Yay for low key holidays. I’m glad yours went well, and they do get better and better. And better.

I love the little leggings that Baby Bug had on. I can’t wait until my daughter is this age so I can enjoy all the moments that you and Baby Bug have. It’s so much fun knowing I have these things to look forward too.

I can see Bug likes her new shoes as much as E did! In the box, out of the box, shake them, put them down, pick them up…
I love the walker behind her, it’s beautiful! E’s favorite thing turned out to be the kitchen (small & noise free) that Nana bought her. Open the doors, put stuff in, take stuff out, close the doors…

Glad your holiday was low key and feel better soon.

Wait until next year, when you can’t put any presents under the tree until Christmas so she won’t open them 2 weeks before the 25th!
Happy first christmas to you all – can’t wait to hear about how the day was!

Oh, she’s so dear. What sweet photos. Baby Bug looks so intrigued by all her cute presents. She’s looking older, too, with her hair getting longer!

Thank you for the holiday boost. We missed seeing our own baby girl, now 20, because of the blizzards and overbooked flights in Denver, stuck in the airport on Christmas Eve. She can’t get home again until Jan. But we remember the times when the tree, Santa, everything seemed so magical with a little one in the house.

It’s so good to see how much you treasure these fleeting years! I love your website and it’s a day brightener to see you so happy with your little one.

Merry Christmas! Looks like the perfect first Christmas to me :) Wait until she understands the whole Santa thing, it was so much easier before Santa came along.

Fun! But the paper is the best part! ;) Sorry to hear she later got sick. Hope that ear infection goes away quickly. B, best wishes to you and Toby and your beautiful Baby Bug for a fabulous 2007!
