place holder post

I am so far behind in my blogging it’s making me mad at myself. I’m supposed to be posting Baby Bug’s seven month movie yesterday but I haven’t even made it yet! I should just fire myself. It’s going to get worse too. Toby’s mom (his real mom, not his stepmom) is drinking again and is in the hospital AGAIN.

We have rescued her kitten. Not that we’re keeping track but last time the hamster died and the time before that we inherited the puking cat and the angry rabbit who chewed up everything and threw his poop pebbles at us… Me bitter? Naaaaaaagh. I love taking calls from social workers and police and hospital employees telling us we need to come take care of our poor elderly drunk who is suicidal and has bled all over her apartment so bad it looks like a crime scene out of CSI, except worse.

I’m taking the new rescued kitten to my mom’s because, as you know, she’ll always take in a stray and there is no way in tarnation we are keeping the cat here. And yes, that means I’m going back to the sticks after being home less than two days!

As a consolation prize for my sucky lack of posting, I am giving you one of my favorite pictures of me back in the day at the Junk Mail Factory. I used to be a designer in corporate land and I had cool short hair. I also wore funky shoes. Man, I miss 1998. But then again, now I have Baby Bug and she is way cuter than short hair, funky shoes OR weighing ten and a half pounds less.

Also… coming soon: V is for VIVI! I have a new niece! Pictures tomorrow! Unless more drama ensues.

You looked awesome in short hair! I know you like your pony tails, but as you say, they make you look like a little girl. This short hair makes you look very cute and modern. You should try it again for fun.
Can’t wait to see BabyBug’s 7mo clip and pics of your new niece. hang in there!

aaaawww dang, sorry to hear about Toby’s mom still going through her own personal hell right here on earth.

anyway, give yourself a break about your posting, you’re posting just fine!!! you’re the mom of a teenney toddler! you’re doing a fabulous job!!

    good luck with everything!

Who’s the hottie in the short hair?!? JK, I remember that cut, looks great! I agree with Felix, of what you want, you can have it all. Go chop that hair and get some new 2006 Funky Shoes!

I wondered if that was you! I didn’t recognize you at all. Of course, I’ve only known you with long hair!

1998, that was such a great year. Weird, my hair was short then too. Photoshop a pic of Baby Bug in the 1998 picture to see what life would have been life with babe back then :P

I’m so sorry to hear about the hell that Toby’s real mom is putting herself and her loved ones through. My husband has a stepmom that we call “real mom” and a real mom that sadly, has never met her grandchildren because of her own destructive behaviors. I feel for all of you.

Congrats on the new niece! Can’t wait for pictures and videos of all the babies in your life :)

you look so spunky in that photo…and i think i had those exact same shoes in ’98!
sorry you are dealing with CSI crime scenes and abandoned animals and more driving to the sticks…this too shall pass.

Your mom seemed tickled when she told me this morning that she was getting a new kitten. She does like the cats, but the clutter and chaos is getting to even her now.

You are SO cute with short hair. Maybe it’s a cut to reconsider? Very hip, m’dear.

So sorry about T’s mom. It’s tough to have an alcoholic in your world, I know, my Dad was one. Not nearly as tough a drinker as Toby’s mom sounds, though. Ack. No fun, for her or anyone in her orbit.

I so don’t miss phone calls like you are describing, although I do miss my Mom.

Remember to take care of you first. There isn’t much you can do with someone who isn’t ready to change. Sad, but true.

p.s. I am back in the Golden State, but in the Bay Area.

Sorry to hear about your MIL. That can’t be easy, especially for Toby. Hope things work out a bit for her.

I think your new longer hair is funky too and the shoes, you can have them and baby bug too! Fun to see you back in the junkmail factory from before I “knew” you ;).
